Volunteering is part of our club’s DNA. It’s so important that we require all club members to volunteer for at least one event or position each year. Through our volunteer efforts we are able to put on two NCNCA races each year – the traditional season-opening San Bruno Mountain Hillclimb and the Brisbane Criterium.

Our club volunteers also put on the Beat the Clock TT Series, which raises funds for the San Mateo County Parks’ Bicycle Sunday program. We also provide volunteer support for the Ryan Phua Memorial Kids’ Ride, a fundraiser for local cancer charities through the Livestrong Foundation.

How to Get Involved

All PV members in good standing must volunteer for at least one club event or position each year (see Club Rules). Use the signup sheet below to volunteer for an upcoming event.

San Bruno Mountain Hill Climb

PV proudly puts on the first race on the NCNCA calendar on New Year's Day. It is simply a one way trip up San Bruno Mountain from the Brisbane side. The staging area is in the Parking lot right off of N. Hill Dr and Guadelupe Canyon Parkway.

*Note for Course Marshal Post 3 (County Park Entrance) volunteers: leaf blower/brooms needed (bring from home), bring cones from registration area.

** Volunteers for Moto and Medic must email volunteer@penvelo.org and confirm their qualifications prior to volunteering.

*** SAG Driver: Collect warm clothing from racers before the start of the race, then drive up to the finish line where racers will pick them up for the descent. Must have valid drivers license and appropriate vehicle.

*****Prize Distribution: Distribute prizes to winners after results have been certified.

Reserve Volunteers will help out wherever needed. They may be asked to pitch and help out at a variety of tasks or to fill in for a volunteer who had to cancel at the last minute. Don't worry - you will have plenty to do!
